About

This project was inspired by the memes surrounding 🅱️. Shortly after these memes became popular, texts and messages involved people mainly interacting with this so my inspiration has come from that.

Unfortunately Covid-19 had ruined my summer plans so this summer, I learned a lot of Python solo. Coming to this hackathon is my way of starting a career in coding by stepping extremely outside of my comfort zone. In the summer, I worked a lot with data analysis in Python (pandas, scikit, matplotilib...) but this project utilizes a hidden power of Python: image processing. By using OpenCV and Pillow, I was able to process images very easily.

I faced many challenges trying to program the UI in Bootstrap. Having Python scripts run by using Flask (something I am also very new with) posed many problems so the final product is as close to complete as I could get given my knowledge of Flask.
