Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from a startup we saw. The startup was a wealth manager that helped people keep track of what assets they are invested in. We thought this platform could benefit from a feature that went further to provide suggestions for diversification of their assets while tracking them.
What it does
The software uses javascript to take in input from the user on where they have invested their assets and provides an analysis of their investment while thinking of the balance they want to strike.
How we built it
We used html and css for frontend and javascript for the functionality.
Challenges we ran into
Some of our initial challenges included familiarlizing ourselves with the front end portion of the project which we did not have much experience in. We also had some initial trouble with github and pushing and pulling.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of the functionality component and the aesthetics. Both parts took a long time and included a lot of troubleshooting but turned out great.
What we learned
We learned a lot about front end from this experience and design work.
What's next for Bark Finance
Hopefully we can build on it and possibly use web scrapping to make the suggestion element more relevant to current news.
