Inspiration

As founders ourselves, we realized that building a startup is one of the hardest journeys. The current landscape is a chaotic mix of fragmented tools, scattered communities, and limited access to investors, all of which significantly slow down execution. Our inspiration for Barise came from this fundamental problem: the lack of a true execution-first ecosystem for founders. While platforms like LinkedIn or AngelList enable networking, none provide the tactical support that startups need daily—from strategy and planning to matchmaking and direct execution. We envisioned Barise as the "FounderOS," a single platform where entrepreneurs can connect, collaborate, and execute faster, without the usual friction.

What it does

Barise is a comprehensive platform designed to streamline the startup journey. It serves as an all-in-one FounderOS, integrating essential tools and resources into a single, cohesive environment. Key features include: Tactical Project Management: Tools for strategy, planning, and task management tailored specifically for startup milestones. Founder Matchmaking: An intelligent system that connects founders with co-founders, advisors, and mentors based on complementary skills and shared goals. Investor Access: A curated marketplace that directly connects founders with relevant investors, simplifying the fundraising process. Collaborative Workspaces: Shared spaces for teams to collaborate in real-time on key documents, plans, and presentations. Knowledge Hub: A repository of resources, playbooks, and best practices from successful entrepreneurs.

How we built it

We built Barise using a powerful and modern technology stack to ensure scalability, performance, and a seamless user experience. The frontend was developed with React.js and TypeScript, which provided a robust and type-safe environment for creating a dynamic and responsive interface.

For the backend, we chose a microservices architecture leveraging Python (with the Flask framework) and Golang. This allowed us to efficiently handle different parts of the application. Python and Flask were ideal for quick prototyping and services that required extensive libraries, while Golang was chosen for its high performance and concurrency, crucial for handling a large volume of requests.

A key component of Barise is its use of our own LLMs (Large Language Models) and agents to generate responses for founders. To ensure these AI services are fast and efficient, we are implementing a task queue system with Celery and Redis alongside FastAPI. This allows us to handle computationally intensive tasks asynchronously. For RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) models used for generating documents like business plans, GTM strategies, and SWOT analyses, we utilize free resource APIs to enrich the model's knowledge base.

We adopted an agile development methodology, working in short sprints to continuously build, test, and iterate on features based on early user feedback, ensuring our platform evolves in a way that truly serves the needs of founders.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating such a diverse set of functionalities—from project management to social networking and investor matchmaking—into a single, coherent platform. Ensuring a seamless user experience across all these features required a significant amount of architectural planning and design. We also faced the classic "cold start" problem: attracting both founders and investors to the platform simultaneously to create a valuable network effect. To address this, we focused on building a strong initial community through targeted outreach and offering exclusive beta access to a select group of founders. Another challenge was managing the complexity of data, particularly with the matchmaking algorithm, where we had to fine-tune the relevance and accuracy of our recommendations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built Barise completely from scratch , from concept to functional AI-powered MVP. -Selected for Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, gaining access to resources, mentorship, and credits. -Made it into Intel Liftoff, validating Barise as a high-potential AI-driven venture. -Recognized by ecosystem accelerators and startup communities, opening doors to strategic collaborations. -Successfully launched core MVP tools: AI Matching, Business Plan Generator, GTM Builder, and Startup Calculators. -Built a founder-centric community vision that’s gaining early traction and recognition.

What we learned

This journey has been a masterclass in product development and community building. We learned that the value of a platform is not just in its features, but in the network and the trust it fosters. A key lesson was the importance of starting with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and iterating based on real user feedback. We initially planned for a much broader feature set, but by focusing on the core pain points and building a lean MVP, we were able to launch faster and learn more effectively. We also learned that building a powerful FounderOS is less about a single feature and more about creating a cohesive, delightful user flow that anticipates the founder's needs.

What's next for BARISE

Expand the Founder Ecosystem, Our goal is to control and streamline the entire startup execution pipeline, making Barise the default operating system for founders worldwide. -University Labs Initiative---We plan to establish Barise Labs in every major university, creating advanced founder hubs where students and early-stage entrepreneurs can collaborate, innovate, and launch ventures with real-world support. -Immersive Horizon Experience---Extend Barise into Horizon’s VR environment, bringing War Rooms, Circles, and Speed Storms into a truly immersive metaverse setting. -Advanced AI Expansion---Add deeper AI systems for fundraising insights, investor discovery, and cognitive matchmaking. -Global Founder Community---Build Barise into a thriving founder-first global network, connecting startups, investors, mentors, and innovators across industries.
