Inspiration

As Anheuser Busch permeates the tech sector, we were determined to make them a product that will digitize AB's connection with consumers in a cutting-edge method utilizing our background in graph theory and web design.

What it does

Crawl Through The Busches allows users to find the optimal bar crawl for any location around the world. With seamless mapping API integration, users are met with an easily accessible web page to find the perfect bar crawl for any situation.

How we built it

The back-end components of our project are written in javascript and the front-end website is built with Velo by Wix, a component of Hack WashU, which integrates the front-end and back-end of Crawl Through The Busches seamlessly.

Challenges we ran into

As a team, we were relatively new to Javascript and entirely new to Velo by Wix. Most challenges were with implementation and understanding what Velo could provide for us. We also had workflow challenges with Velo, as only one member can be making changes at a time and there was no workaround for multiple members to be testing different parts of the project or work on separate files.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are particularly proud of the concept of Crawl Through The Busches, digitizing the connection with consumers in a streamlined user-friendly format. We are proud of our revisionary coding process, some processes we started building from scratch and then continued to find more efficient ways to implement those processes.

What we learned

When planning a large-scale project it is important to consider how your team members will be able to access and share work. The main problem we faced was the double-edged sword of Velo by Wix which handled much of the communication between front-end and back-end but came at the cost of efficiencies in other areas.

What's next for Crawl Through The Busches

Crawl Through The Busches will continue to revolutionize bar crawls. Given more time for this project we would impliment more features to the site for users. A potential area to expand Crawl Through The Busches into would be social media. Users would have options to share posts of their crawl's with other users on our platform and through other social media, which would simultaneously publicize the site to others and expand our user base.
