Inspiration
Our application was inspired by a gap in financial budgeting apps for university students. Our app combines banking information, FAFSA, and recommendations catered to the user's desired budgeting needs. Being able to create something personal gave us the motivation from thought to execution. We are extremely excited to show the judges, friends, and family our app.
What it does

How we built it
Bank Roll was built using a combination of programming languages, web technologies, APIs, and development tools. We needed a diverse set of technologies to bring together the different features of our application. Python and FastAPI were used for backend development, while HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were used to build the frontend and create an interactive user experience. We also integrated multiple APIs and services to provide features such as banking data, personalized recommendations, and other financial resources.
Challenges we ran into
We did come across some issues with implementing the APIs, but with the help of the mentors and some assistance from multiple AIs, we managed to make them work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our use of APIs and that we managed to add an AI chatbot.
What we learned
We learned how to use APIs and how to make an AI ChatBot for the first time.
What's next for BankRoll
Looking ahead, we’re expanding that mission by integrating FAFSA data directly into the platform.
