Banking Buddy – Your Personalized Financial Concierge Inspiration We were inspired by Capital One’s challenge to reimagine banking for the modern world. Financial literacy and wellness are often intimidating or inaccessible, especially for younger users or those new to managing money. We wanted to create a solution that feels like a friendly, intelligent companion—one that empowers users to take control of their finances with confidence and clarity.

What It Does Banking Buddy is an AI-powered assistant that helps users:

Track spending and categorize expenses

Set and monitor savings goals

Receive personalized budgeting advice

Automate transfers and bill reminders

Get smart investment suggestions based on risk tolerance

Gamify financial wellness with achievements and rewards

It integrates directly with banking APIs to provide real-time insights and nudges, making financial management proactive rather than reactive.

How We Built It Frontend: React for a responsive, intuitive UI

Backend: Node.js + Express for API handling and logic

AI Layer: Python-based NLP models for personalized advice and financial summaries

Database: MongoDB for storing user profiles, goals, and transaction history
