🍌 Banana Dog 🐶

The weirdest toolbox on the internet. Come for the bananas, stay for the tools.

💡 Inspiration

I wanted to build something fun, useful, and a little ridiculous — a quirky home for random tools, mini-apps, and experiments. Something between a personal lab and a public playground. Thus, banana.dog was born.

🛠️ What it does

Right now? Not much.
There’s a landing page and a waitlist. But under the hood, I’m building a directory of tools for developers, tinkerers, and internet explorers — all under the Banana Dog umbrella.

Any useful tool will be able to be listed there for FREE!

⚙️ How I built it

So far:

  • Static landing page hosted on S3, with a waitlist form powered by Formspree
  • Custom branding and logo (bananadog.png)
  • Domain set up at https://banana.dog
  • Rough product roadmap and early tool ideas

I also run another blog focused on VoIP, SIP, and dev tooling (cyberpunk.tools) — Banana Dog is its fun, chaotic sibling.

😅 Challenges I ran into

Mainly time. Also: too many tool ideas and not enough hours. I had to fight the urge to overbuild and instead focus on launching something small but solid.

🚀 What’s next

  • Allow tool submissions from others
  • Add Firebase login for contributors
  • Build a public-facing tool dashboard
  • Keep having fun with the concept and the community

🔥 Why Banana Dog?

Because bananas are funny. Dogs are awesome. Combine them with internet tools and you’ve got something weird, memorable, and (hopefully) useful.
