Inspiration
We noticed something during the hackathon. We had been brainstorming without any concern for how we were sitting. We started thinking about how headphones could gauge how we're sitting and decided to explore that concept. We realized that most people aren't careless about their bodies, they're just too focused to notice what's happening to them.
What it does
Banalens is a screen companion that monitors your posture in real time and gets increasingly dramatic the longer you ignore it, growing, staring, and sulking until you sit up straight. It's less like a reminder app, more tiny opinionated roommate.
How we built it
We started by building our designs in Figma, then built a fully interactive prototype in Figma Make, bringing Banalens to life with real interactions, character animations.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with camera-based CV accuracy and designing something that felt genuinely privacy-safe.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a health tool that actually makes you smile.
What we learned
Understanding how to push Figma Make to integrate animations we have imagined, and unlock use of the camera in real time.
What's next for Banalens
A real CV model integration, a full posture dashboard, and more characters beyond the banana
