Inspiration : Bambinosit was inspired by the daily struggles of parents—especially working mothers—trying to find trusted and available caregivers in Tunisia. At the same time, thousands of women were seeking flexible income but lacked access to structured, safe opportunities. We wanted to solve both issues by creating a platform that empowers women economically and supports families with trusted care services.
What it does : Bambinosit is Tunisia’s first digital platform that connects families with over 7,000 verified babysitters, elderly caregivers, and pet sitters. Parents can post a request or book directly based on location, time, and budget. Caregivers receive alerts, manage jobs through their dashboards, and get paid securely. We also offer training through Bambino Academy and plan to integrate AI-powered smart matching.
How we built it : We developed a web and mobile application (iOS and Android) with:
A user-friendly interface for both parents and caregivers
Geolocation features to match users with nearby profiles
Secure online payments via GPG Gateway
Admin dashboards to track services, feedback, and performance
Custom codebase built by our CTO, with continuous improvements based on user feedback
We adopted a lean and iterative approach, growing city by city while testing features with real users.
Challenges we ran into :
Trust: convincing families to rely on a digital platform for sensitive services
Digital adoption: onboarding caregivers unfamiliar with technology
Cultural barriers: overcoming the stigma around formal care work
Limited resources: scaling the platform and verifying thousands of profiles on a startup budget
Accomplishments that we're proud of : 20,000+ parents registered on the platform
7,000+ verified caregivers, with 1,500+ having earned income
Launched Bambino Academy for continuous training
Selected in top startup programs in France, Morocco, Italy, and Turkey
Expansion initiated in Turkey, creating regional impact
What we learned : Co-creation with users is key to building meaningful solutions
Inclusion in tech must go beyond access—it requires training, empathy, and follow-up
A strong mission combined with data-driven decisions leads to scalable social impact
Women’s economic empowerment can be accelerated when care is formalized and valued
What’s Next : We’re now expanding to Turkey with:
A points-based economic model for caregivers and clients
A growing e-learning platform (Bambino Academy)
Integration of AI for smart caregiver matching and fraud detection
Expansion of our B2B partnerships with companies and institutions
Our long-term mission is to become the #1 care platform in MENA and Africa, combining tech, trust, and social impact.
