BAM (Blockchain Asset Manager) is an identity-based ledger that allows users to inventory, transfer, and lock assets. Our team was inspired to make this ledger due to the need to transfer, loan and lease assets quicker and easier using the blockchain. We put together an identity platform that allows us to use recovery and transfer of Etherum identities. We were first unsure how to implement a recoverable identity-- which we managed to solve by implementing the uPORT self-sovereign identity platform. We used the ERC token standards to manage asset ownership and transfer and implemented a locking mechanism to enable collateralization. Constructing our own functional proof-of-concept based on the blockchain was a great milestone in our project.
