Inspiration
The inspiration for the TOPOL-M missile, part of the broader TOPOL family, stems from the strategic imperative of the Soviet Union and later Russia to develop a technologically advanced intercontinental ballistic missile. Born out of Cold War-era considerations, the TOPOL-M was designed to overcome evolving missile defense systems, offering enhanced accuracy, rapid deployment, and maneuverability as a crucial component of Russia's modern nuclear deterrent strategy.
What It Does ?
Due to the increasing negative events in the world in the last century, countries have needed to defend themselves more, therefore air defense systems have been developed. It is one of the intercontinental missile models, also known as the Sickle-B missile, which Russia developed and produced in 1985. Topol-M entered the inventory in 1998. The Topol-M air defense system manages to fire missiles 11,000 km ahead, protecting the country's distant borders. The Topol-M is designed and produced by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology and built at the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant. This solid-fuel missile works as the missile's fuel or propellant is pumped into an engine. Hot exhaust gases are created by burning and these gases are released from a nozzle at the back of the missile. This action creates thrust at the base of the missile, forcing the missile into upward reaction. To achieve takeoff, the thrust must be greater than the weight of the missile. The magnitude of the thrust force is determined by the rate at which the exhaust gases are expelled. It depends on the type and amount of fuel and the engines used. The missile will continue to accelerate until it runs out of propellant, at which point it will reach its maximum speed and will continue to move at that speed until another force such as gravity or air resistance acts on it and burnout happens. The speed it reaches is the burnout speed.
How We Built It ?
We found the real measurements of topol-m. We scaled these measurements to a certain extent. We drew these measurements technically using the Autocad program.
Accomplishments That We're Proud of
Throughout this project, we take pride in our achievements in unraveling the intricacies of the Topol-M ballistic missile, creating detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, and fostering a multidisciplinary approach that seamlessly integrates engineering knowledge. Our team's dedication has resulted in a comprehensive understanding of the missile's functionality and a successful depiction through meticulous drawings, contributing valuable insights to the field of military technology.
What We Learned ?
We have improved ourselves in techincal drawing, learned the report on the work of the drawn object and most importantly, to achieve a great job by forming a group.
