Inspiration
We wanted to make something fun!
What it does
Catapults goldfish where a player can catch them in a cup (or their mouth ;) ).
How we built it
Using recycled materials, goldfish, Arduino hardware/software, open source code, and our own coding.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring consistency and accuracy in placement and execution of components. Finding usable and appropriate materials. Dispensing one projectile at a time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our resourcefulness in our use of materials (recycled goods). The consistency of the lever arm in pulling and releasing catapult. Our LCD countdown to Launch.
What we learned
It's very difficult to automate simple tasks like throwing food.
What's next for Ballistic Goldfish
- adding lights for countdown on LCD
- making dispenser drop more consistently
- more accuracy of goldfish throwing
- more components to enhance gameplay. (like rovers for catching goldfish that can be controlled by joystick or being able to aim targets)
