Inspiration

When I was thinking about what kind of game to develop, I looked out at the balcony — the blooming flowers and the chirping birds helped me relax, and my mind loosened up. At that moment, I realized I could recreate this scene in VR — to build a beautiful environment that allows players to unwind and release their inner fatigue.

Do & Challenges

I use Unity,That’s how the development of Balcony Garden began. The most challenging part at first was creating the environment. I soon discovered that crafting a beautiful scene that can be observed up close is not an easy task. For example, making a lush tree full of leaves was already difficult, and once I placed the model into the VR scene, everything became chaotic. After countless rounds of optimization and testing, I finally managed to reduce these issues.

The environment alone has already gone through three major iterations, and I’m still working hard to make it better. My goal is to bring players a fresh and soothing VR experience.

What's next for Balcony Garden

Next, I will integrate a more realistic animal system to enhance the healing emotions in the experience.
