Tower Game/Bɑ̄lal

Team Name: BluSquare

Our goal for this project was to have a minimum viable product for our game by the end of the hackathon. We were able to get a very rough first draft showing a (extremely) small vertical slice of what our final game has to offer

Thank you to Godot for providing a free game engine for us to use, and for the wonderful people on the internet writing tutorials and helpfully answering questions on forums. Very nice :)

Reflection:

  • We'd been brainstorming for this game for a few months, and we felt like this hackathon would be a great way for us to get a simple prototype done quickly.
  • A challenge we consistently encountered was setting up our node hierarchy in the most confusing way possible. We kept going because we thought it was good enough and because it worked, even if it was confusing and jank, but this led to problems further down the line when we tried to add more features and make the code less confusing while debugging.
