Inspiration
We all like cozy games -- our team wanted to make something fun that our fellow CS/IT students would enjoy.
What it does
This two-player game is a bakery simulation where you and a friend can step into the life of cafe owners. You take orders from customers and go through a multi-step process to make the customer's desired baked good. For the sake of simplicity, our game focuses on cupcakes.
How we built it
- Kaboom.js
- Hopes and dreams
Challenges we ran into
- Time.
- Managing 2000+ lines of code in a single .js file :/
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Our VIP customer's sprite designs! (They may or may not be inspired by a few CS faculty members here at Mizzou)
- This is a two-player game! Player 1 can navigate using the arrow keys while Player 2 uses the WASD keys
What we learned
- There is a LOT that goes into making a good game
- Making sprites to use in the game takes much longer than you think it will
- We do not like Kaboom scenes
What's next for Bakery Blitz
- Levels with increasing customer frequency and decreasing patience while waiting for orders
- Options for decor so players can decorate the bakery!
- Adding messages for users regarding game tasks and goals (reducing confusion)
