Baked Blessings was started by a group of teenagers in Fairbanks trying to find a way to support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic such as front-line workers, elderly people, and homeless residents. We at Baked Blessings wanted to find a way that we could directly help and impact people's lives with the resources we had. In order to connect with people and spread the word, I created a website for our nonprofit organization.
What it does
The Baked Blessings website creates a way for people to connect with us, learn more about us, and support us if they wish to.
How I built it
I built the website using Wix.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge I ran into was considering how to make an easy way for us to connect to users. If they wanted to contact us, how could they reach out to us? If they wanted to donate to support our project, how could we make receiving donations easy?
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm very proud of being able to create a user-friendly, easily navigable website.
What I learned
I learned that website design is harder than it looks. Designing websites isn't only about the aesthetics, but also the usefulness, functionality, and efficiency.
What's next for Baked Blessings Website
We hope to reach out to many more people through our website and get them involved in our project. We want to continue to help support our community here in Fairbanks, and perhaps, eventually to other states as well.
