**Update: Created a Logo I wanted to make a culturally relevant hack that shows how we celebrate Christmas in the Bahamas. What better way than to decorate a Christmas (cocunut) tree to the Bahamian Days of Christmas song?! The Bahamas is a country made of islands in the Caribbean and I'm from there. :)

What it does

You can decorate your coconut tree with traditional Christmas ornaments and items used in Bahamian holiday celebrations while the Bahamians days of Christmas song plays.

How I built it

I built the game using the Phaser.js framework for building web games. The front end design is made with HTML and CSS. The site is hosted using Google Cloud storage and the domain name is registered with GoDaddy.

Challenges I ran into

Navigating the documentation to figure out how to scale images and implement drag and drop and creating images/sprites on a click was difficult. I tried implementing the drag and drop features using Phaser.js but I couldn't get it implemented.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I made a cool CSS snow theme and this was my first time making a game period, not only Phaser.js so I'm happy I at least got the initial setup done even if it's not totally playable.

What I learned

I learn the basics of Phaser.js and picked up some new tips for developing locally with Visual Studio Code while troubleshooting.

What's next for Bahamian Days of Christmas

  • Implementing drag and drop
  • Creating original ornaments for decoration
  • Adding a toolbox menu to hold decorations
  • Pause and volume controls for music.
