Inspiration
Just in general blockchain web apps that manage finances.
What it does
It allows users to apply for loans for 3 separate areas of life, lets them know if they are eligible to buy one based on their Ethereum account balance, and manages the loans bought by sending reminders and updating them on their current balance..
How we built it
We used Solidity, Javascript, HTML, CSS, React, HardHat, BuildBear, and MetaMask.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting the Ethereum accounts to the website links, and having the backend and frontend be able to access and communicate with each other, installing and maintaining various packages on our frontend in order to connect everything, and learning Solidity, Hardhat, and React all at once.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a fully functional deployed smart contract that has most of the functionality we originally intended it to, connecting our React frontend and our Solidity/Hardhat backend together succesfully on our first attempt, full-stack development, and making a successful blueprint for an effective blockchain web application.
What we learned
Solidity and React syntax and functionality, Hardhat initialization and deployment techniques, successfully completing transactions using blockchain addresses and ETH, and allowing a backend and frontend to communicate with each other successfully.
What's next for Badger Blockchain - Mortgage Master
To fully complete the application based on our original vision by fleshing out the backbone of the application that we were able to implement during this hackathon, and the entire management system's functionality after the user receives a loan, and has to start repaying their monthly dues.
