Inspiration

Have you ever looked at some NFTs and wondered how they are used? Whether it's a punk head, a monkey or a duck, most of them are used as profile pictures, but can't we go further?

Well, that's what our team has been working on for the past month! As we watched NFTs becoming more popular and the market growing, we wanted to discover new applications that would make the best use of this technology.

Unfortunately, to date, PFP projects all look the same and lack originality. We wanted to find a solution that would bring artists and players closer together, while adding an extra service that everyone could use on the app.

Do you want to know more?

What it does

While browsing throught the Uniq marketplace, we were stunned with the art produced by the community and our first thought was that we would love to have some of them in the background of our computers. Ultra's app is quite new and there are plenty of features that could be implemented. We wanted to propose, throught this PFP project, a way to allow the user of choosing their favorite wallpaper on their app. It could be done via a front page resuming the recent progress on the app with a configurable background.

Each affiliated company could then create a unique collection with the favorite scenes/landscape of the games for the players. Numerous artists would be inspired to create their own collection and sell it on the marketplace. It would help them extend their reach and live of their art.

We believe that as long as art finds a use, and is not just a collector's item, people will come together.

Challenges we ran into

We took too much time deciding on the direction that the project should have, we almost fall short on the completion of the artwork but we are still happy with the results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finding the courage to propose our idea. It was our first time participating in this kind of contest, but we have followed Ultra for now 2 years. Even if we don't win, we would like our idea to be considered as a possible feature for Ultra's app.

What's next for Background App

Ideally, if it can go forward, instead of just a static image, an animated one would be fantastic to consider.
