Backcast + Drift I built Backcast + Drift because most leadership software is designed to make you feel comfortable. I wanted to build something that makes you feel accountable. When I studied how highnstakes decisions are actually made, a pattern kept repeating itself: professional optimism. We fall in love with our plans. We downplay weak signals. We rationalize discomfort. And when everything collapses six months later, we pretend it was unforeseeable. It wasn’t. I didn’t want to build another chatbot. I didn’t want to ship another cluttered dashboard filled with vanity metrics. I wanted to build a Black Box for your brain. Decision Setup Every decision begins as a formal record. This is not a casual prompt or a brainstorming space. It is a declaration that what follows will be traceable, reviewable, and remembered. Your assumptions are locked in.
