Story time: I was in the Caribbean for Christmas. I had had a couple beers, and a glass of wine, an Irish coffee, some rum punch, some regular rum, and another beer. The point is I was precipitously close to that magical level of alcohol in my blood known as the Ballmer Peak (relevant XKCD: http://xkcd.com/323/). Then I had an idea: I should be able to track what my BAC is at any time. And then it really hit me: I am wearing a tiny computer on my fucking wrist. Fast forward to present day, I decided to try and implement it here at HackIllinois. Some of the initial code was reverse-engineered from sample code on the Pebble developer site but the app was otherwise created entirely by me.
I'll be honest here, I really just made this for myself. This was something that I thought I needed, so I made it. Simple as that. If others find use for my app, that's just a bonus in my eyes.
The best feature of this app is its ability to be used by virtually anybody (of legal age in their jurisdiction) since the user sets their weight and gender at startup to get the most accurate reading from the equation.
