Inspiration

Oculus has been all the rage for the past 2 years, however it always lacked input capabilities, and Myo had the opposite issue, it had unique inputs that never fit with most common devices, and it was under utilised by the development community.

How it works

We use the Gyroscope and accelerometer in order to detect the forearms rotation and position within the unity world, together with Oculus allowing for an immersive 3D experience, with no excessive clunky controller. inputs that really compliment the Oculus hand free style.

Challenges I ran into

This is our first Hackathon ever, it was first time using unity for most of us, understanding and using the Myo SDK and the oculus SDK, and getting them to work side by side smoothly.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Being able to work for 24 hours straight on a project that we had no past experience in.

What I learned

We had never used any outside plugins for a program like Unity, so with this practice we opened a whole new world of. development opportunities We had a lot of practice in 3D design, sound (in FL studio) and many other programs that were completely new to us.

What's next for BabyGotHack's

Hopefully, we try integrating more new input technologies, such as leap motion (when the inputs become more stable), the pebble watch and other unique, under utilised devices. Specially being able to work amongst our friends, to have fun while helping each other get by the challenges that we encountered while exploring new mediums of programming.
