Inspiration
I created this template to help solve a problem I've encountered at nearly every early-stage B2B company I've worked with: how to catalogue and synthesize user interview content without adding extra manual work.
What it does
This template enables anyone conducting user interviews to easily:
- Catalogue their notes: Coda AI will summarize the notes for you
- Effortlessly track user interview sentiment: Coda AI assigns a sentiment to each interview card
- Understand the themes: At the top of the doc, Coda AI summarizes the feature requests and pain points that have surfaced across all your logged interviews
- Keep track of integration opportunities: Coda AI extracts and tags names of tools mentioned by your interview participants so you can keep-in-mind integration opportunities and other tools used by your customer base
What's next for B2B User Research Log
Not mentioned in the video walk-through, but II’d love to expand upon this template to:
- Link it to a Google Calendar for user interviews to pull in more of the interviewee context beforehand (i.e. email address)
- Upload recorded interviews to loom (or a similar tool) where the transcript can be synced to Coda so the interviewer doesn’t even have to take notes
- Give the option to push each row to a Slack channel to share overarching themes or interesting points for user feedback, so we could start a conversation that could lead to a pitch, or just socialize common threads coming up.
- Enrich participant records with Clearbit to remove even more manual work!
