Inspiration
This project was inspired by looking at lots of portfolios, the thing is that most of the time portfolios and everything that has to do with work is very serious, but we think that we can still be serious and at the same time fun.
What it does
This portfolio displays 4 windows, the first one, is the main page, with some cool animations, we managed to make it look attractive, the second window is the works window, it shows you some samples of what the user has done, some explanation of the project and where to find it, as well as the link to the GitHub account, next we have the bout me, this window has a link when clicked, will redirect to the user's LinkedIn, it has as well answers to some general questions, and last but not least, the las window is the contact me, where again, if missed, it gives both GitHub and LinkedIn links, and some textboxes to fill for an email to be sent (only frontend).
How we built it
We used Flask, JS, HTML, CSS, we built two windows each, merging an requesting pull requests on GitHub, always communicating between us to minimize the risks of bugs and crashes.
Challenges we ran into
One of the teammates didn't know how to use and setup flask, so the first day he (Charbel) used it to get the overall sintax and idea of the server. We also used some help from W3schools with some effets, https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/bootstrap_carousel.asp.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Got to know Flask, remembered how to WebDev and teamwork with GitHub being in different timezones, as well as the result.
What we learned
We leaned how to use Flask and use in depth GitHub.
What's next for B&W Portfolio
The backend functionality, as well as some additional user-friendly setup.
