Inspiration

Ever since our college reopened, we have been blessed to enjoy our campus life. With an enormous campus comes a long line of the beauty of nature and kilometers to walk every day. Gladly with the shuttle services provided by the university, students like me have been able to get around the campus much faster. But even then due to the lack of time management, getting the shuttle service at the right time has been equal to impossible. This very problem of not knowing when the shuttle service arrives, we have come up with a solution to tackle this problem.

What it does

Our solution is to have a real-time monitoring system for all the shuttle services in and around campus to match our timing properly. The monitoring system will include a GPS on the buses that will transmit real-time data to all bus stops so that the passengers can view the location of the buses and this makes waiting convenient.

How we built it

Using some of the most reliable microcontrollers and open source software My team & I have put together, a B-track system. This system involves a GPS module onboard every bus that will transmit its location to the nearby bus stops and it is monitored by the passengers at the bus stop on a TV screen.

Challenges we ran into

Running tests to build a project like this is indeed very hard. Transmitting real-time data over the internet is also a hard thing, But regardless of all hurdles, my team and I have been successful in getting past all walls to get here today to present with this solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Since we are all from different backgrounds with respect to our branches in colleges, we have learned to work as a team and gain knowledge from each other.

What we learned

We taught each other what we did not know as we have learned a lot from the open sources available to us on the internet. Our project is a mix of several fields in engineering.

What's next for B Track

We not only plan on implementing this in our college shuttle services but to employ this in every other local bus in the city so that passengers can view the current location of the bus and make their travel plans easier. We look forward to developing our product on an industrial scale to provide convenient services to the public.
