Inspiration
We got inspiration from Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alex
What it does
The user is able to talk with the virtual assistant and based on certain words or phrases the user uses, then Blue or Purple (the virtual assistants) will talk back to you.
How we built it
We built Blue and Purple on Python and used speech recognition, macOS speech, web browser, PyAudio, and a lot more imports to make this work.
Challenges we ran into
There was several bugs we had to fix (with the help of mentors). It seemed like every time we cleared one error up, two more appeared.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're all proud that we were able to clear up all errors in the end, and waking up to work on this in the morning
What we learned
We learned that a lot of programming involves just googling your questions and searching on stackoverflow. We didn't expect to spend so much time on pasting our errors into google. Also, we learned not to use PyAudio
What's next for B.P: The Virtual Assistants
We hope to add more personalities to B.P to make the interaction more enjoyable and memorable. Another thing we hope to improve is to have B.P be able to respond to more commands
Built With
- pycharm
