Inspiration
Feeling responsible as effective IT professionals to use our experiences and available technologies to provide the pilgrims with the best and safest Hajj experience.
What it does
The idea is all about making the Hajj experience with almost no problem in means of congestion and crowds. The main focus of the App is not to solve the problem when it happens, but it is mainly focusing on limiting the main causes of the problem before it happens. The business process include three levels of action; prediction and analytics, notification and Action. It provides multiple services for helping application users in planing, managing and dealing with the crowds and it's related problems. The system has three user types; Security forces, Hajj Campaigns' guides and pilgrims. There is a strong relation between the three user types, in order to stimulate the cooperation between almost each and every person to insure the achievement of our vision.
The application provides each user type several services to help him in his role. These services include:
- Push Notifications
- Location-related services
- Hajj Campaigns Management
- Lost People Identification and Help
How we built it
We used ASP.Net to build the application. For some services we also used the google API. An off-the-shelf JavaScript library to read QR code.
Challenges we ran into
Main challenges where trying to find a unique, different and new idea, which can be applied using the technology with the different types of pilgrims regarding languages, ages, traditions and cultures.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Converting the ideas into working services. The spirit of cooperation both technically and business wise.
What we learned
We learned how each and every pilgrim thinks, and what services and values each pilgrim is willing to have.
What's next for B-038-HajjCrowdsMng
We are planing to continue the development of the application until we release the first version of the application and then continue on developing and fine tuning the solution and trying hard to make it live for the next Hajj years.
