Aye-migo

Inspiration

Although there is a plentiful website available for dating websites and virtual study rooms for students, connecting people that have the same hobbies, same academic goals, etc is the hardest, especially during the pandemic.

What it does:

It shows preference that the users are looking for new people. The user may join a community with the same goals.

How we built it:

We spent a while brainstorming and building with mostly HTML and CSS, and then all worked on different components and implementation details.

Challenges did you run into:

We had to learn React, as well as attempt to search for an API for the Livestream room called StudyStream. Unfortunately, we ran out of time, so the front-end GUI does not display data from the API.

Accomplishments that we're most proud of:

I helped push the planning forward and kept the team on track with the guidelines of the requirements. I researched the possible frameworks and APIs.

What we learned:

I learned the general strategies for developing a GUI and planning out a web application.

What's next for Aye-migo:

We want to finish integrating the API and the GUI, as well as host it on Heroku or Google Cloud with a domain from Domain.com
