Axiom TaskPilot — AI-Powered Workflow Automation

Inspiration

Axiom TaskPilot was inspired by a simple belief: building and using powerful software should not require years of traditional programming experience.

As the founder of Tierra AI Labs, I have been developing AI-powered applications using a nontraditional approach that combines artificial intelligence, natural-language instructions, and PowerShell automation.

I wanted to explore how agentic AI could help people move beyond simply asking questions to actually completing meaningful tasks.

What it does

Axiom TaskPilot is being developed as a standalone AI workflow assistant that transforms natural-language requests into structured, actionable workflows.

Our goal is to enable users to:

  • Describe tasks using everyday language.
  • Break complex requests into manageable steps.
  • Connect AI agents with approved automation tools.
  • Review and approve actions before execution.
  • Receive understandable results and task summaries.

How we're building it

Our planned approach combines:

  • Agentic AI: Understanding requests, planning workflows, and selecting appropriate tools.
  • PowerShell: Automating local development, project setup, and approved operations.
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP): Exploring standardized connections between AI agents and tools.
  • Web technologies: Creating an accessible interface for interacting with TaskPilot.
  • Alexa+ simulated experience: Demonstrating how conversational AI could initiate and coordinate useful workflows.

The project is being developed independently under Tierra AI Labs for the Amazon Developer Hackathon.

Challenges we're addressing

Our key engineering challenges include making AI-generated workflows reliable, restricting potentially unsafe actions, managing tool permissions, and designing an experience that is easy for nontechnical users.

Another challenge is building a practical agentic AI demonstration using accessible development tools and modest local computing resources.

What we're learning

This project is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of AI agent orchestration, tool integrations, conversational interfaces, and responsible automation.

We are also exploring how AI-assisted development can make software creation more accessible to people from nontraditional technical backgrounds.

What's next

Our planned milestones include completing the standalone application, implementing a working agent workflow, testing tool execution and approvals, and recording a functional demonstration.

Our long-term vision is to make Axiom TaskPilot a practical assistant that helps individuals and small businesses automate everyday operations.
