Inspiration
We wanted an adventure where understanding mathematics changes how you explore and solve problems. Curiosity drives both the journey and the learning.
What it does
Explore a river basin, manipulate waterworks, navigate currents and test predictions in your journal. Help restore a struggling habitat while rebuilding a mathematician's lost understanding.
How we built it
We used Godot 4, typed GDScript, procedural 3D art, custom shaders and Python-generated audio. Codex and Claude helped us develop and refine the code and assets.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the simulation, visible water and journal predictions consistent took careful testing. Character movement and camera framing also needed repeated revisions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a playable opening region with connected water puzzles, raft navigation, conversations and a restoration payoff. We also created an original two-minute trailer.
What we learned
The simulation, visual cues and journal need to follow the same rules. Small animation and camera problems can hide an otherwise working mechanic.
