Inspiration
I am a master-level social worker who has an affinity for grief and loss. I believe that we do not give people the space they need to grieve, and our walls we built up to remove ourselves from grief have made grieving a mysterious force when in fact it is one of the few human experiences that we all have felt. As such, I wanted to build a Remix which can help give a summary of people's thoughts, key emotions that might be felt, and some thoughts based on thanatologists to demystify this thing we call grief.
What it does
This interactive experience will teach you about thanatology, the scholarly study of death, dying, grief and loss, by inputting your own experience or your observations of another person's experience. Share your story, your struggles, or how you are trying to navigate someone else's with their story. Please note that LLMs should not replace the knowledge and support of professionals, family members, and other humans which can provide valuable nuance. Moreover, grieving is unique to the individual, and LLMs simply cannot provide that level of detail.
As such, this LLM remix serves to draw attention to grief and loss, and to enable generative discussion into the experience. Note that the focus of this particular prompt is based on death-related grief and loss, so may not work as well with ambiguous and other non-death related losses (divorce, chronic illness, etc.)
What's next for AWS PartyRock Grief and Loss Interactive Learning Experience
I hope more social impact professionals consider the social good that generative AI has. Specifically, I hope to learn about users' interactions with this remix. Let me know any problems or suggestions you might have!
