Inspiration

After being exposed to professional software development, it became clear that project management, planning, and preparation, are crucial to ensure project success. AI has infinite potential, and we saw the potential of using AWS services to aid project management.

What it does

Lyra automates or generally boosts efficiency of PM tasks such as 'Speccing-out' requirements from input at the business level, then creating key documentation and artifacts at the technical level, as well as creating AWS CodeCatalyst blueprints, through intelligent questioning and the simultaneous use of multiple AWS services, generative AI models, and services.

How we built it

We built the front-end interface through pure HTML5/CSS, with the backend scripting developed in Python. We created our own API to link our frontend and backend, and another API to link our backend to AWS and ElevenLab cloud + AI services. Through effective use of prompting, we solicit key information to ensure accurate PM artifacts.

Challenges we ran into

Frontend challenges included new technology and subsequent adaptation.

Backend challenges included developing the toolset that would be used by AWS Nova Pro, and ensuring those tools that create accurate artifacts.

General challenges included scoping, unfamiliarity with software, and time crunch! Seems like we could've benefited from Lyra if we had it when we started!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to connect our tools together, developing at the same time, and overcoming burnout and stress!

What we learned

On the technical side, we explored AWS services like Bedrock/Nova and CodeCatalyst, ElevenLabs API, model prompting, and Agent Pipeline Toolsets.

On the nontechnical side, we learned how to overcome stress together, how to support each other when we burn out, and how to keep going when things seem insurmountable.

What's next for AWS Lyra

Further integration with AWS services, deployment in real world scenarios. Lyra should be more than a software tool; it should be project management for all.
