Inspiration
Many SMEs face high costs and a lack of accessible tools for basic cloud service monitoring, leaving them vulnerable to unexpected outages. We saw an opportunity to provide a free, easy-to-use, real-time AWS health status dashboard to bridge this gap.
What it does
Our AWS Health Status Dashboard provides instant, real-time visibility into AWS service availability across all regions, helping users quickly identify and react to any service disruptions.
How we built it
We rapidly prototyped and built this solution using Bolt.new for the core architecture, combining React and Tailwind CSS for a modern, responsive frontend. We integrated directly with AWS RSS feeds, ensuring accurate and timely status updates.
Challenges we ran into
Ran out of credits!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are particularly proud of achieving comprehensive accessibility, ensuring the dashboard is fully navigable and usable for everyone, including those relying on keyboard navigation, screen readers, and high contrast modes.
What we learned
The effortless integration and auto-deployments provided by Netlify were a significant revelation, streamlining our development workflow and demonstrating how modern platforms can drastically simplify DevOps practices.
What's next for AWS Health Status Dashboard
Our immediate plans include open-sourcing the project to foster community contributions. We also aim to expand its utility by integrating monitoring for other major cloud providers, accessible via a simple dropdown selection.
