Inspiration

Transitioning from a technical field to a technical role comes with its own set of obstacles. While venturing into the realm of cloud computing I encountered hurdles in understanding the skills and experiences for a successful career switch. To assist others in situations I developed AWS Career Compass, an application that offers guidance, resources and a clear path towards entering the tech industry with a focus on cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Additionally this project provided me with hands on experience in no code development, UX design and project management.

What it does

This app creates personalized career advice for those wanting to transition into a career in tech, particulary through the certification offerings of AWS

How we built it

Building AWS Career Compass was made achievable without coding expertise by leveraging no code tools. These tools included a form builder for data collection a database to store user information efficiently and a website builder for crafting an user interface.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge during the creation of AWS Career Compass was ensuring that the application remained user friendly and accessible to individuals, with technical knowledge. I tackled this obstacle by running tests with users and getting input from a variety of people to ensure the app was user friendly. Another hurdle I had to overcome was keeping up with the trends and best practices, in cloud computing. To conquer this challenge I made it a point to attend industry events regularly engage in communities and network with professionals in the field.

AWS Career Compass is a user application meant to assist individuals in transitioning from technical roles to technical careers in cloud computing. By offering career guidance, resources and a roadmap for success AWS Career Compass aims to facilitate an more accessible transition for those, in entering the dynamic and rapidly expanding field of cloud computing.
