Inspiration
For over a decade, Counter Strike & Steam has continued to scale virtual item ecosystems for millions of new players. With the highly anticipated of release of Counter Strike 2 earlier this year, there is a strong demand for on-chain payment solutions to supply the new generation of players and users.
And since our release of bobbybot.trade and trxmini.games we've been asked by several TRON community members to create a CS2 platform/solution.
What it does
Awpswap.io is a exchange and marketplace for Counter Strike 2 items. You can currently swap your CS2 items for TRON, or purchase our selection of CS2 virtual items with TRON on MAIN-NET.
Since the TRON S6 hackathon, we've also created a game-server community for Counter Strike 2, which allows you to compete for score & camaraderie on our servers with FFA & Surf. You can find our leaderboard stats for players here https://awpswap.io/leaderboard
How we built it
Our team has a strong background in developing Steam-based applications professionally and have been involved with cryptocurrency for several years. The frontend is built using Next.js, ethers, web3.js.
A robust backend is necessary to validate payments and orders, which was built in Express & TypeScript. We utilized the tronweb library to interact with the TRON chain, and ethers to interact with EVM chains (in the future)
We built our game-servers using custom specifications and plugins via the CounterStrikeSharp framework. We currently host about 4-5 game-servers in both the NA & EU region. You can play our servers at awpswap.io
Challenges we ran into
We spent a lot of time developing this as fast as possible for the hackathon, leading up to the last moment of the deadline. We faced some issues with SSR and dynamic APIs on Next.js. As we continue to mature our application into a full release, onboarding new users onto our platform is our largest priority.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Game server community with 50+ active players
- Developed two frontends and many designs for implementation
- Vision for future and strong business model with AWPSwap
- Supports TRX & USDT on main-net
- Onboarding users today
- Developed a unique & original product for Web3
- Practical for many demographics
What's next for awpswap.io
The funding this opportunity could provide would be instrumental to the progression and launch of awpswap.io. All team members are involved for the longevity of AWPSwap and steam-based projects.
