Inspiration:
We noticed that most platformers aren’t very creative and end up being similar games without much creativity. We decide to step in and tweak some parts of the genre by introducing new and interesting features
What it does:
Away is a simple 2d infinite platformer survival game created by Aarnav Munji, Soumil Voona, and Harshith Reddy Gade. The intent of this game is to navigate new territories and features within the platformer genre.
How we built it:
We used unity, GarageBand, pixilart, C#, and VSCode to create our project.
Challenges we ran into:
We had tough times trying to make lasers come out of the character due to the fact that all of the layers were messed up. We also struggled to connect the mini-games as the 2 parts were on different computers and a hard time transferring all of the code - eventually did it with a thumb drive.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Actually completing a mobile game that could eventually become part of a major app producer, like the App Store.
What we learned
We’ve learned that large projects like these often perform better with more planning.
