Inspiration

We didn't want to limit ourselves to a single field of raising awareness so we decided that the best option was to empower people to raise awareness about what ever they wanted in a fast, simple and convenient way. That's when the concept of Awarely was born.

What it does

We have created a website that helps a user create and share one-page documents to help raise awareness on the things that matter most to them. Pages can contain links and images to relevant resources which the creator fills out. When they are done, they can share the page using a unique link. People who click the link are taken to a view of the page but can not edit it.

How we built it

to build our project, we use react and node.js for the creation and design of the website. We also use Firebase to host and store our website and the pages created by our users.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into multiple challenges ranging from problems with the software we used to the design of the website but the main issue we encountered was the business side of our project. Indeed, our team is composed of only computer science students with little to no experience in business. It was a really challenge to create our pitch deck but also research the market and create a successful business model.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

There are two main accomplishment we are proud of. The first one is managing to build a working prototype of awarely, a website that lets users build their own page. The second one is being able to navigate the business side of the project with no experience what so ever and managing to build a structured pitch deck.

What we learned

We learnt a lot during this project from working as a team but also working under pressure. We also had to think about a different side of programming not just following orders but creating a project from A to Z. We also drastically enhanced our knowledge on the business side of a project and all of the work that goes into creating a maybe successful business model.

What's next for Awarely

The next Chapter for Awarely would be to tweak a bit more our website, work on a marketing campaign to attract user and start looking for brands to work with to and ads to our website which will probably be our main source of income.
