Inspiration

The initial inspiration for the project came about 2 years ago from an introduction to AR Technologies and Unity. We were fascinated by the prospects and started brainstorming our prospective solutions. We decided to work on an AR app that can render tourist spots. The corona gap gave us more time to think, and we were introduced to more technologies, and the NFT and Metaverse crazes added more fuel to our thoughts.

What it does

The current project renders the location in XR and is accompanied by a catalogue that can give you in detail information on the amenities around the location, as well as aiming to provide suggestions based on user interests[not working right now]. We are also in the initial stages of an NFT platform designed specifically for the souvenirs of these tourist spots.

How we built it

We built the main app primarily in Flutter, for cross-platform compatibility. XR features are implemented using Unity. We aim to utilize Tensorflow and Flow-Blockchain for the respective recommendation engine and NFT platforms. Microsoft Azure is currently used to host the website of the NFT platform.

Challenges we ran into

  • Deploying the ML model and integrating it with flutter was highly cumbersome, and we decided to ship it as a future update
  • Device-based AR rendering is highly taxing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we are working with the latest technologies and trying our level best to deliver solutions that can be a part of the new Tech Wave of blockchain and metaverse.

What we learned

We have learned a lot about cross-platform and cloud-based solution development capabilities, as well as had a strong introduction to the blockchain technologies and XR spaces.

What's next for Avride

We single hope the solution has a bright future, and we would like to add these capabilities in the near future

  • Finish the NFT Marketplace & integrate the same
  • Finish the integration of the Recommendation Engine
  • Integrate Cloud-based rendering capabilities, to reach a wider audience
  • Create and Deploy an interactive virtual assistant for the ease of use
  • Bring in a TTS engine and Accessibility support
