The goal of this project is to facilitate connections for travelers in their destination cities and curate personalized activities based on shared interests.
Our inspiration stemmed from the desire to transform ordinary business trips into memorable and enriching experiences. We wanted to facilitate connections among travelers and curate personalized activities that go beyond mere logistics, fostering meaningful interactions and creating lasting memories.
What it does
Our project aims to facilitate connections for travelers in their destination cities and curate personalized activities based on shared interests. Through a user-friendly website interface, travelers can pinpoint their destination city on a world map to access tailored information. This includes details about fellow travelers they will meet, the duration of their stay, and a schedule of planned activities.
How we built it
We built this project using a combination of front-end and back-end technologies. The user interface was developed using HTML and CSS, while the back-end logic was implemented using Python.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the development process, we encountered several challenges. One major challenge was that this was our first time coding, which required us to learn everything from scratch.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the challenges, we're proud of several accomplishments. Firstly, we successfully learned how to code with Python, HTML and CSS. Secondly, we were able to implement our ideas and transform them into code. Lastly, we feel specially accomplished because we are able to turn something in, which is more than expected before starting.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we learned valuable lessons about GitHub, coding and teamwork. Additionally, we gained insights into the world of AI and Data Science.
What's next for Avoiding Travels' Troubles
Looking ahead, we have several plans to further enhance Avoiding Travels' Troubles. Firstly, we aim to add an AI-generated chat feature for travelers to plan their journey. Lastly, we plan to optimize the user interface for mobile devices.
