Inspiration
Our inspiration came from mainly us having unideal professional headshots, and bad profile photos. So, our idea was to create a tool that could help people with having quality profile photos and professional headshots.
What it does
Users can either generate images from just text prompt or with reference images. Then, users can access the locally-saved images and edit them through Pixo.
How we built it
The project was written mainly in TypeScript with Gemini, Pixo, and next.js.
Challenges we ran into
Integration of Auth0 was impossible for us. Despite many "simple" guides from Auth0, none actually worked as everytime there would be a response error for a certain page whenever we built our web app with Vercel.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the lack of Auth0, we were able to implement many other core functionalities. Local storage for images was a challenging implementation, but it worked using a very small TypeScript file images.ts.
What we learned
We ran into a lot of difficulties with Auth0. There was a lot of troubleshooting, but trying to work with it helped us understand more in depth the concepts of Auth0, even though we couldn't get it to work. Deviating off of it also taught us something new with local storage by implementing it with a json array.
What's next for AvikonAI
We hope to upscale the product so that we can get a user base. We believe that AvikonAI is a tool that could help many people, especially those with lower income, to have access to headshots. Ultimately, since it's a creative site, we hope users will experiment with our tools and provide feedback.
