Inspiration
Our team thoroughly enjoys exploring the raw beauty of nature in the great outdoors. We are not afraid to get a little dirt on our hands and faces to experience the breathtaking mountains, forests, oceans, and lakes that Mother Nature has to offer. When planning an outdoor adventure or wellness activity, we aim to assist the user in finding the best ARC'TERYX gear that will keep them safe and provide support during their chosen activity.
What it does
Aviary is a personalized wellness and ARC'TERYX gear recommendation app that utilizes technology to provide a seamless experience across various channels, aiming to involve customers and encourage well-being and a healthy way of life.
To personalize the user experience, the app features a bird personality quiz that collects information about users' preferences and lifestyles. Based on the bird's personality, the app recommends wellness activities specific to the user and suggests some cool ARC'TERYX gear for the recommended wellness activities.
This interactive personality quiz is connected to the ARC'TERYX website and the user's ARC'TERYX app. To provide a seamless omni-channel experience, the user's app's geolocation is utilized to recommend clothing available in their nearest store. The quiz results and user's wellness and clothing preferences can also be viewed in-store, where representatives can offer personalized recommendations.
How we built it
We built the app using react.js and next.js, plus HTML and CSS for the front end. We used the open AI API to generate the user's recommended local hikes.
Challenges we ran into
Finding a way to personalize the recommendations for each specific user was challenging. To address this, we created a bird personality quiz and used the information gathered to determine the wellness activities that best suit each user.

Our app takes pride in its personalized experience, encouraging users to embrace positive change, prioritize wellness, and simplify choosing wellness activities.
What we learned
We learned a lot about omnichannel and how to provide a seamless experience for users across different platforms.

In the future, we plan to expand the app's functionality and integrate more features to enhance the user experience.
