IN-PERSON Avi is an interactive, augmented-reality head-up display that seamlessly blends automatic safety with the overall user experience of driving. As part of our mission, we wanted to introduce a product that builds off of the innovative and increasingly common design of head-up displays and put a meaningful twist on it that can benefit a wide scope of people. Through this, we drafted together our vision for Avi, creating a system that helps drivers handle accidents and their stressful nature, all as part of our pursuit to redefine what safety in a car looks like. During our process, we began by drafting the design's concept, piecing together other pieces of tech elements that helped to inspire our final product. Through our mood board, we were able to narrow down the aesthetics and features that were most important to our team, and thus build on top of them through our application flow chart, which drafts out a sequential process for how the app can function. With that, we then implemented each piece into Figma, coming up with various concepts before fusing them all into one final product. As our ambition continued, the challenge of the product became more and more evident. Constantly, we found ourselves at odds, trying to do our utmost to maintain the nuanced features we discussed while also maintaining a simplistic user interface that was not just intuitive to use, but also would not feel overbearing in a high-stress environment like a car accident. With that, we had to become flexible with the process, learning to become okay with adaptation as our expectations of our product started to evolve and change, leading to the final product we now present, providing the user with a sleek, agile interface that matches our brand vision and ambition while keeping true to our original goal of educating and protecting people.
