Inspiration
I am new to Avengers and went through many problems as I didn't know about most of the characters. I am pretty sure that others have the same problem too. So I wanted to create a solution that people can use in the middle of the movie and find more about the character they are watching.
What it does
It tells you about the characters of the movie just by searching the name. What all you need to do is basically, pause the movie and search for the character on the app. In addition to that, you can opt in to get notifications about movie releases or other important days by giving in your WhatsApp phone number.
How I built it
I used Kotlin to write some parts of the app so as to convert the website into an application. For most of the app, I used html, but I did used kotlin as well to make one of the screens. In addition to that, to give out notifications to the user, I have used Twilio.
Challenges I ran into
As I was working alone, I had to design, create the frontend and backend alone. However, I wasn't able to fully deploy the backend, the database part and hence had to use variables instead of the database itself.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of making the whole app alone within the time constraint provided to me.
What I learned
I learned about cloud computing though I wasn't able to bring it to function. In addition to that, I worked with Twilio to send notifications via WhatsApp/ phone.
What's next for Avengers: Peace
I will add features like image search, where the user can click a pic of the character and get to know about the character. In addition to that, I am planning to add a hot corner section where people can track clips of different marvel movies.
