Imagine a freelancer completing a project but waiting weeks to get paid, while their proof of work remains trapped on a platform. Aven aims to change this by making payments flow continuously through streaming payments, helping workers access their earnings without waiting for traditional payout cycles. With its npm package, developers can easily integrate Aven into their applications and build around its payment streaming capabilities. But Aven is about more than money. It focuses on verifiable proof of work that belongs to the freelancer, not the platform. Workers should be able to prove their contributions independently instead of relying entirely on a platform’s records or reputation system. Building Aven meant exploring how streaming payments and work verification could work together, while addressing the challenge that a payment alone does not prove completed work. Through this journey, we learned that fair compensation is not just about paying faster; it is also about giving workers ownership of their achievements. We are proud to bring streaming payments, developer accessibility, and worker-owned proof together in one project. Next, we aim to strengthen verification, expand integrations, and make proof of work portable across platforms, giving freelancers greater control over how they earn, prove their value, and build trust.
