AveloHealth

Inspiration We were inspired to build AveloHealth to solve a critical issue: the communication gap between healthcare professionals and patients. Our goal was to provide immediate, 24/7 attention and care. As college students, we feel this gap acutely due to the limited availability of campus health services, lack of transportation, and minimal financial resources. Despite these hurdles, we wanted to create a solution that provides the necessary support patients deserve in the critical time before their next in-person visit.

What it does AveloHealth is a modern, HIPAA-compliant digital health diary that empowers patients to track symptoms, monitor health progress, and share meaningful insights with their providers. By leveraging SMS AI technology and LLM analysis, AveloHealth transforms the administrative burden of healthcare into a conversational, data-driven experience.

How we built it Our tech stack includes Snowflake, Next.js, React, and Teli AI, with VS Code as our primary IDE. We utilized Snowflake as our central database to store all user entries securely. Teli AI powers our voice and SMS integrations, allowing for seamless data entry. The front-end was developed using Next.js and React to ensure a professional, responsive user interface.

Challenges we ran into One of our primary challenges was ensuring seamless data flow from SMS/Voice into our database. We also navigated complexities regarding AI feedback; to maintain data confidentiality, we utilized a model within our database system. This required us to design a custom table structure to map specific responses to each entry. While integrating Teli AI into our existing architecture presented hurdles, we successfully implemented both the SMS and Voice components.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We are incredibly proud of the cohesive system we built. Coordinating multiple moving parts to work in harmony was a significant feat. Specifically, we are thrilled with our AI-generated summary responses and the professional look and feel of our front-end.

What we learned This project was a deep dive into the Snowflake ecosystem and modern front-end development with Next.js and React. We gained hands-on experience connecting back-end systems via webhooks and processing JSON data. Most importantly, our teamwork and determination were tested, and we emerged with a stronger understanding of our technical abilities as both individuals and a team.

What's next for AveloHealth Moving forward, we plan to further refine our Teli AI features and continue our partnership to expand AveloHealth’s capabilities. We intend to integrate location-based services and, eventually, enable users to schedule or cancel appointments directly through the app using Teli AI automation.
