Avalanche Debt Calculator

Inspiration

We were inspired by Dave Ramsey's lectures on avoiding and escaping debt.

What it does

Our app calculates the most efficient way for a user to pay off debt.

How we built it

We utilized java to implement the avalanche debt method and HTML, CSS, and JavaScipt our front end.

Challenges we ran into

WE were, unfortunately, unable to implement the spring boot API to unite our front and back end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have a project that works other than not having a united front and back end.

What we learned

We were able to understand the overarching idea behind implementing an API and practice using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

What's next for Avalanche Debt Calculator

In the future, we would like to officially unite our front and back ends and update our UI to be more dynamic and visually appealing. Additionally, we would like to give the user the option of allowing our program to automatically pay off the User's debt in the most efficient way.

I primarily worked on the back-end side of this project. I used Java to be able to accept input from the user and use the information to calculate how much time it would take to lose all of the debt using the Avalanche method.

I worked mainly on front-end using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I worked mainly on the back end back part of the project with the algorithms in Java, as well as trying to connect the front and back end.

I was a full-stack developer aiding in attempting to unite the front and back end, working partially on the HTML, and primarily helping with the java code.
