Inspiration
“Autumn Waltz – When Memories Dance” is a cinematic violin story about love, loss, nostalgia and the memories that never die. We created this piece as a tribute to every silent heartbreak that shaped us, every person we had to let go, and every moment that still lives inside our hearts. This emotional instrumental combines neoclassical music, orchestral strings and soulful violin melodies with a cinematic visual journey. The result is a film-like music experience – dramatic, poetic and unforgettable.
What it does
In this video, a violinist returns to an abandoned theater where her life changed forever. She once performed a beautiful melody here for her first love, a young soldier who left for war and never returned. For years, she kept playing the same waltz to keep him alive in her heart. In “Autumn Waltz,” two timelines collide: her younger self full of hope, and her older self full of longing. Through stunning AI-generated imagery, the past and present dance together – and the door she thought would never open finally does.
How we built it
We built the project using a hybrid workflow: generating still images with AI, animating them to create natural motion, and combining them with live-action violin footage. In DaVinci Resolve, we unified the colors, textures, and pacing so the video feels like one continuous emotional breath. The music was composed and performed by Anna Gold.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenges were maintaining consistency of the characters across AI scenes, balancing real footage with stylized visuals, and working within technical limitations and tight timelines. Despite this, the project became one of our most emotionally intuitive and rewarding works.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Similarity of the main character in live performance and AI scenes, realism, deep emotional story accompanied by heart touching violin performance.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we learned how powerful a collaboration between live music and AI storytelling can be. We deepened our understanding of emotional pacing, visual rhythm, and how to make AI support the artistic intention rather than dominate it. Most importantly, we discovered how our two creative worlds — performance and visual direction — can elevate each other.
