Inspiration

I run a small matcha bar in Paris, similar to a coffee shop but specialized in matcha. I wanted to spend my time creating great drinks and welcoming customers—not constantly checking and answering Google reviews.

Reviews are essential for local businesses, but responding to each one thoughtfully takes time. That personal challenge inspired me to build AutoReplied, my very first app.

What it does

AutoReplied uses AI to generate warm, professional, and personalized replies to Google reviews. Businesses can edit and publish replies manually, or enable automatic replies for eligible new reviews.

The owner remains in control through explicit consent, review history, notifications, and the ability to edit generated responses.

How we built it

I built AutoReplied as an Expo iOS app with a web application and Supabase Edge Functions. It connects to Google Business Profile, synchronizes reviews, and uses AI to generate replies and drafts.

I integrated RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, entitlements, and usage limits. Automatic replies are disabled by default and only apply to genuine new reviews received after the user opts in.

Challenges we ran into

My main challenge was balancing automation with trust. A poorly written or inappropriate reply could hurt a business, so I designed safeguards around consent, eligibility, retries, quotas, and manual fallback.

As this was my first app, I also had to learn how to bring together mobile development, backend services, authentication, subscriptions, AI, and app-specific business logic into one reliable product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have turned a real problem from my own business into a working product—and to have built my first app from the ground up.

AutoReplied can save small business owners valuable time while helping them maintain an active and professional online presence. I am especially proud that the automation remains transparent and that users can always review or edit responses.

What we learned

I learned that useful AI is not just about generating text. It needs the right context, clear boundaries, and a user experience that builds confidence.

I also learned how important subscription and entitlement management are to a reliable product. RevenueCat helped me build that foundation while focusing on the customer experience.

What's next for AutoReplied

My next goal is to introduce AutoReplied to the world and help as many local businesses as possible save time, stay connected with their customers, and build a stronger online reputation.

I want AutoReplied to become a simple, trusted tool for businesses everywhere—so owners can focus on what they love instead of spending hours replying to reviews.
