Inspiration
Munich’s housing benefit process suffers from long delays, complex paperwork, and frequent manual errors, creating frustration for citizens and high administrative effort.
What it does
The concept automates the entire application workflow using SAP Build Process Automation and AI/LLMs for document processing, rule-based decisions, workflow orchestration, and real-time monitoring.
How we built it
It combines SAP Build Process Automation, AI-powered document analysis, and SAP’s AI-native architecture. External AI services can be integrated via APIs.
Challenges we ran into
Connection bridge between JSON generation from XML and writing into SAP Build.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- XML Converter to JSON
- LLM Analysis of Housing Benefit data with reason and suggested approval
- Writing Post Requests into SAP Build
What we learned
Working with SAP Build Process Automation taught us how low-code tools can streamline complex processes, especially when handling structured data formats.
Working with XML showed us how legacy-style structured documents can still integrate smoothly with SAP systems, especially when transforming XML into a format that automated rules can consume.
Overall, we learned the importance of clean data structures, consistent schemas, and clear business rules to make the automated process reliable and maintainable.
What's next for Automizing Munich’s Housing Benefit Process using SAP Build
Faster benefit decisions, reduced workload for staff, scalable and compliant automation, and moving Munich toward a leading smart-city role.
