Inspiration-so basically i got inspired from my village where i saw that some of the cultivators could'nt have idea or proper measure of use of resources from which scarcity of resources happened . so from here i got my problem statement.
What it does- ok so it is an automatic plant monitoring system in which it provide real time data of your crops in one touch. it fetch data of moisture of soil , ph level of soil ,temperature & humidity of the environment to keep your crops healthy . when moisture level of soil gets down upto 30% it automatically command motor to turn on & when it fullfill moisture level upto 80% then it automatically turned off . ph level sensor is used to measure ph level of soil also it helps the farmers while using chemical fertilizer in right amount. it shows realtime data in thingspeak application both in analog as well as in digital format.
How we built it- we have used microcontroller(node mcu esp8266) , sensors ( soil moisture sensor , dht11 sensor & ph sensor ), water motor , bread board , jumper wires for wiring. codes done on microcontroller using arduino ide (language - 'C').
Challenges we ran into - so we faced issue of connection , some inaccurate reading issues & coding error.
Accomplishments that we're proud of- so i have a device such that it can help farmers/cultivators in their day to day farming activities also to get the proper knowledge of using resource.
What we learned- so i have learned how can i help farmer to yield there crop in smarter, faster & in easy way & to decrease / minimize the wastage of crops.
What's next for automatic plant monitoring system - so talking about this topic we would like to expand this in large scale & in different sectors or if we talk about target customers these are-
- urban farmers
- home gardners
- greenhouse owners
- commercial farmers.
